Norwegian American Hospital’s Director of Quality

272400571_640Norwegian American Hospital (NAH) retained David Gomez & Associates (DG&A)  to perform an executive search for their next Director of Quality.

Norwegian American Hospital is a 200-bed, acute care facility, offering a variety of health care programs and services including: inpatient and same-day surgery, outpatient pharmacy, radiology department, All Kids health care program, cardiology department, corporate health program, intensive care unit, telemetry unit, pediatrics unit, emergency department, physician specialty center, and a comprehensive array of women’s health care with an incorporated midwife program.

DG&A filled the position within 90 days with Ms. Rose Deato Baez, RN, MSN, MBA who was previously the Director of Designation Programs at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA).  At BCBSA, Rose provided strategic leadership and direction to the Blue Distinction® (BD) division and independently managed the development of clinical programs to support BCBSA. She also supervised, coached and evaluated a team that includes Registered Nurses, health services research and data analytic professionals in achieving BD objectives and goals. Lastly, Rose lead key cross-divisional, national initiatives to increase the value of BD programs for BCBS Plans, partners and other key stakeholders.

At NAH, Rose will direct the operations of the Quality Department including providing education and training to all staff regarding best practices in the quality arena, providing guidance and support to leadership regarding adherence to regulatory & accreditation  requirements,  supervises activities to ensure adherence with core measures, collecting, analyzing and managing data, coordinating communication between  committees that drive quality improvements.  She will maintain up-to-date information regarding all requirements and ensures effective communication of same as well as oversee activities of Quality Coordinator, Core Measures and Infection Control Practitioners.  Rose will ensure completeness and accuracy of submission of required data to appropriate organizations.
