Surgical Care Affiliates Retains DG&A To Find A Regional Vice President

Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA) retained David Gomez & Associates in January 2011 to perform an executive search service in order to successfully fill a Regional Vice President of Operations position in the Southeastern region.

SCA is a new company, created in 2007 with a physician-led philosophy of clinical excellence. In fact, SCA has a Physician Leadership Team, comprised of 15 key physicians from across the country. Headquartered inBirmingham,Alabama, SCA operates a national network of ambulatory surgical centers and surgical hospitals, with approximately 3,700 full-time teammates and more than 2,000 physician partners. SCA’s Vision is to be the partner of choice for surgical care and generates more than $1 billion in annual system-wide revenue.

Reporting to the SVP of Operations, this role will have full P&L responsibility for efficiently running and growing approximately six ambulatory surgery centers located in the south-easternUnited States. This role will coordinate ambulatory operations utilizing effective review, analysis, and benchmarks to refine medical practice operations, processes, and systems to achieve a high level of efficiency. The role will also be responsible for new business development including acquisition and development of surgical centers, negotiating with managed care plans, marketing, physician recruitment, and overall operations and management of facilities.
