David Gomez and Associates was retained for the first time by Chicago Housing Authority, the largest owner of rental housing in the city of Chicago, providing homes to more than 50,000 families and individuals, while supporting healthy communities in neighborhoods all across the city.
In February 2012, DG&A was brought on by Chicago Housing Authority’s Marilyn Jefferson, CHA Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness, to find a Chief Financial Officer and Budget Director. The EVP/CFO ) will be involved in the overall strategic planning, management and reporting of the financial resources of the Authority. This position will direct a team of leaders with responsibility for the following functions: budgeting, accounting, tax, audit, cash management, information technologies, procurement & compliance, human resources and insurance programs. This position will interact frequently with the city and county governments. The Budget Director’s primary focus is to manage the administrative activities associated with reviewing and monitoring budget activity; documenting and analyzing data relative to the administration of the budget Authority-wide. Its responsibilities include assisting with budget approval, authorizing expenditures, as well as coordinating, compiling, and reviewing financial reports for all sources of funds.
DG&A is currently performing an executive search for CHA to find candidates that has a proven track record with progressive management experience in a governmental finance/accounting environment and a comprehensive knowledge of both Fund Accounting and financial reporting and auditing practices, internal accounting controls, treasury, and tax matters. These positions will require comprehensive experience within Housing, Public Housing and Property Management industries and specifc knowledge with HUD funding programs.
CHA is currently undergoing the Plan for Transformation, the largest and most ambitious redevelopment effort of public housing in the history of theUnited States. As part of the Plan, CHA will redevelop or rehabilitate its entire stock of public housing.
