In the past year, DG&A has announced multiple retained placements with Vanguard Health Systems. Most recently, Vanguard Health Systems (VHS) retained David Gomez & Associates (DG&A) once again to fill three roles, including the Executive Director of Outpatient Services, Executive Director of a Clinical Laboratory System, and Executive Director of Imaging roles.
Not only did DG&A complete the searches for the positions within 60 days, DG&A filled all three jobs with one exceptional candidate! Alexis Barbour Florczak was brought on as VHS’ Vice President, Outpatient, Employer, & Neuroscience Services, combining the Outpatient, Clinical Lab, and Imaging roles. By breaking apart the market and finding that this talent existed, DG&A was able to provide significant cost savings to VHS. Alexis was previously the Market Director of Clinical Operations at Christ Medical Center & Trinity Hospital, both part of Advocate Healthcare, in Chicago, IL.
At Advocate, Alexis was accountable for 20 departments, 140 FTEs, $100 million in gross revenue, $72 million in expenses with 11 direct reports. Alexis provided strategic, administrative and operational leadership to the inpatient and outpatient services at Christ Medical Centers. Her responsibilities included strategic alignment and program growth, clinical operations, patient satisfaction, association satisfaction, personnel management, new program development, physician relations and staffing with a focus on cost effectiveness and the provision of the highest quality patient care.
As the VP of Outpatient Employer & Neuroscience Services, Alexis will be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the major outpatient clinics and centers of VHS. She will grow and develop outpatient clinics and centers dealing with imaging services as well as other outpatient services. Operational responsibilities will be to interpret and apply policies, budgets and long and short range plans for Radiography, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, C.T., MRI, and Radiation Therapy while upholding the hospital philosophy.
Alexis received her Masters of Health Administration and her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in International Relations and Biology-Chemistry, Spanish Minors at The University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. Alexis’ progressive management experience in a variety of acute care settings combined with her strong clinical and financial abilities focused on transformation and turnaround of key result metrics, clinical processes and pathways, service line growth strategies, new program implementation, joint ventures, and patient satisfaction will allow her to drive the Vanguard strategy for physician partnership and manage physician recruiters while leading and managing the VHS sales team.
